Join Paul D. Maley of the NASA Johnson Space Center Astronomical Society on what will be his 91st trip to see an eclipse of the Sun!

Join us in Luxor, Egypt (land programs) to witness the total solar eclipse on August 2, 2027, which will have its greatest duration of totality (6 minutes 23 seconds) from our viewing site. This rare and remarkable natural phenomenon is not to be missed, as the next eclipse offering this much totality won’t occur until 2114. With an 80% likelihood of clear skies on the day of the eclipse, this region is the perfect location to experience this awe-inspiring event. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this extraordinary moment in history.

Itinerary

Explore the treasures of the Red Sea on an unforgettable voyage, taking in the ancient wonders, hidden beaches, and cosmopolitan delights that line the coastline of Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Journey inland from Ain Sokhna to discover the majestic Pyramids of Giza. Run your fingers along the intricately carved contours of Petra’s sandstone walls, and witness the moon rise over the Nile River as you enjoy an overnight stay in Luxor, home to the world’s largest open-air museum. Browse the contemporary stores of the Red Sea Mall or meander through Jeddah’s historic district, with its narrow, stone-lined alleys and charming spice and perfume shops. And, of course, take the opportunity to snorkel in the awe-inspiring underwater environments of the Red Sea. Paul D. Maley, NASA Johnson Space Center Astronomical Society on his 91st eclipse expedition. He will be joined by Dr. Mike Shara of the American Museum of Natural History in New York. He is a veteran of 6 solar eclipses.

We are still perfecting the details of our itineraries.  The information below is our estimated or possible itinerary.  The final version will be available on or before January 1, 2025.

The itinerary is subject to change at the discretion of Eclipse Tours.com or Direct Travel. In particular, viewing the total solar eclipse will be weather dependent, and there is always a chance that passengers will not be able to view totality or view it only for a short period of time. Neither Eclipse Tours.com nor Direct Travel makes any guarantee as to the viewing of the total solar eclipse. Keep in mind that unexpected schedule changes could affect the program. Your Tour Director will keep you fully informed of any changes to planned activities. A sense of humor, flexibility, and patience will be greatly appreciated during this program and especially on eclipse day!
